NFL playoff schedule 2013: Falcons outlast Seahawks, advance to host 49ers in NFC Championship Game

The Atlanta Falcons outlasted the Seattle Seahawks in a wild finish that saw the Falcons nail a late field goal for the win. We look at the instant classic, and look ahead to next week's NFC Championship Game.

Fooch's Note: Here is our Pats-Texans open thread.

You have GOT to be kidding me! The Atlanta Falcons outlasted the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, winning an insanely wild affair that saw them first blow a 27-7 lead, then nail a late field goal, then have to survive a late Hail Mary attempt.

The Falcons looked ready to roll through this one as the Seahawks did not appear to know what was going on. But, as if on cue, the Falcons fell apart late. The Seahawks stormed back to take a 28-27 lead with 31 seconds left. However, the Falcons quickly go into field goal range and took a 30-28 lead with nine seconds left. They tried a pooch kick that set the Seahawks up with an opportunity to make something happen, but a Hail Mary from mid-field fell short.

That sets up 49ers vs. Falcons in Atlanta for the right to go to Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans. The 49ers have apparently opened as a 2.5 point favorite, although I'm looking for further confirmation on this.
